Discreetly positioned just a few minutes from Bond Street, the Polo Bar at The Westbury Mayfair has unveiled a late-night cocktail and mignardises concept, perfect for those looking for a delicious after-dinner digestif or wind-down after an evening out in town.
The menu, inspired by the popular French dish Café Gourmand, has been designed by newly appointed bar manager Fabio Pezzini and offers a libation and treat for every taste.
The impressively mellow ‘One for the Road’ mixes Remy 1738 with Montenegro tobacco liquor and homemade decaf coffee syrup and the ‘Last Cocktail’ will deliver a tipple of Tanqueray gin, pear juice and homemade rosemary syrup, topped up with Moet & Chandon Champagne.
For those who like to end their evening with a classic cup of tea, the sweet dreams inducing ‘Pillow of Roses’ offers a premium loose-leaf tea infusion of chamomile flowers, rosebuds and lime balm. Caffeine and alcohol free, the calming blend is unique to The Westbury and is sourced from neighbouring Mayfair resident, East India Tea Company.
A pistachio and white chocolate drizzle cake, a cherry and vanilla choux bun and a scrumptious chocolate orange pot in bite-sized proportions will accompany ‘One for the Road’, the Last Cocktail and the Pillow of Roses on a beautifully presented platter, ready to satisfy post dinner sweet-tooth cravings.
For the cognac connoisseur, the ‘Remy Martin XO’ straight serve is characterised by a rare aromatic complexity, made from up to 400 of the finest Rémy Martin eaux-de-vie. The sumptuous blend is served atop a beautiful bespoke stand which hides a secret drawer full of luxurious homemade chocolate treats for the ultimate late-night indulgence.
Pezzini said: “We created the Nightcap Menu in response to clientele who have been requesting speciality drinks to help them end their evening in style. Guests who may have had dinner in town or perhaps an evening at the theatre are looking for the perfect spot for one or two more drinks more along with a sweet treat before they head home. We are delighted we can offer a bespoke menu in an ideal location to do just that.”
Welcoming Londoners since 1955, the Polo Bar is decadence at its finest with Swarovski crystal fittings, a polished marble-topped bar and plush Fendi furnishings. Fabio Pezzini, who joined the team in August 2018, brings with him a wealth of experience from iconic London institutions such as Quaglino’s, The Lanesborough and The Dorchester. Under his management, the talented team will continue to specialise in premium cocktails, offering unique and innovative takes on all of the classics.
The Nightcap menu will be available daily from Monday 8th October, 9pm – close with prices starting ranging from £9.50 – £33. For more information or to book please visit: http://www.westburymayfair.com/polo-bar
